My name is Thomas. I'm an intuitive abstract artist based in London, UK. I use paint, paper and an eclectic array of mark-making methods to create playful collages and paintings, with an emphasis on play, process-driven creation and exploring new ways of doing things; I make art for all the inner children who were told they weren't creative, artistic, or talented enough.My creative process involves the coming together of my inner child's playful energy with the gentle holding, guidance and eventual interpretation of my adult self. As a queer individual in a society that has often made me feel both too much and not enough, I am using my art to both express myself freely, and also to find a sense of organisation and order where there may otherwise be confusion and chaos.Continues below images.

I find particular inspiration from the stars and planets about our heads, and there is a definite celestial lean to some of my pieces. Beyond that, I am finding self-expression and healing in using bright, bold colours; in embracing every colour of the rainbow, I embrace all parts of myself.My work is also influenced by both a personal journey through mental health challenges and my professional training in the field. This combination is coming to strongly influence the ways in which I interpret my painting/mark-making and, later, how I present my work.I share regular updates, process videos and ACEO drops on Instagram (@thomasbcreative) so, if you're interested in collecting some art or seeing the behind-the-scenes of my work, that's the best place to head! I'm currently documenting a major work in progress, an eventual series of pieces upon which I’ll stick a colourful painted star for every 'inner child' who follows along. I’m excited to see where this ever-evolving piece of work will lead, and I'd love to stick a star for you!

Open Studio

I'm very proud to say that I'll be taking part in Greenwich Open Studios 2026."Greenwich Open Studios was founded in 1978. For two weekends every year the individual studios of artists who live and work in Greenwich are open to the public. With exception of the lockdown year of 2020, it has been an annual event which profiles the very best of visual art in Greenwich."Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th September
